What are ASKfirmations?

What are ASKfirmations?

Affirmations not working for you?

Try ASKfirmations instead.

So, what are ASKfirmations?

Your brain can just flat out reject an affirmation.

You say "I am capable and resilient" and some little voice goes "are you though?" and that's that, the affirmation's dead in the water.

Questions work differently.

When you ask your brain something, it can't help but go looking for the answer.

It's an open loop, and your brain hates leaving those open.

So instead of forcing a statement it might argue with, try handing it a question to chew on instead.

Swap it round like this:

Instead of: "I am capable and resilient"

Ask: "When did I first notice feeling stronger and more resilient?"

Instead of: "I love myself"

Ask: "What's it like to feel loved by myself?"

Instead of: "I can handle anything today brings"

Ask: "How great does it feel to know I can handle what today brings?"

Try taking one affirmation you usually struggle to believe and turn it into a question today.

What question would you like your brain to start finding answers to?
