There’s a moment, just before nightfall, when the forest changes.
The sky grows softer, the shadows get longer, and the first tiny lights begin to flicker between the trees.
That’s when the badgers come out to dance.
Stay Until the Fireflies Glow follows three little badgers lost in their own magical world, surrounded by forest friends, wildflowers and the warm glow of a summer evening.
Nobody is keeping an eye on the time, or is worried about tomorrow. There are no to-do lists in this part of the woods.
Just three animal friends dancing barefoot beneath the trees, chasing fireflies and squeezing every last drop of magic from the day.
This painting is about the joy of staying out until dusk. That delicious feeling of being little and carefree, when you were allowed to play outside for just ten more minutes and somehow those ten minutes felt like they might last forever.
It’s a reminder of the part of us that still wants to forget what time it is, dance for absolutely no reason and stay until the fireflies glow.
Created originally in acrylic and oil pastel on canvas, this piece is filled with rich colour, texture and tiny details waiting to be discovered.
