5 Reasons to be your own Best Friend

5 Reasons to be your own Best Friend

OK, OK, maybe *everyone* isn't a bellend, but there are some valid reasons why you should be your own best friend:

1. You're the only one who knows what you need.

No one knows you better than you know yourself, so you're the best person to determine what you need in any given situation. Whether you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to celebrate with, or just someone to vent to, you can always count on yourself to be there for you.

2. You're always available.

Your best friend is always available when you need them, and you can be that for yourself as well. You don't have to worry about coordinating schedules or waiting for a response – when you need someone, they'll be there.

3. You're honest.

Your best friend is your biggest cheerleader and will always have your back, but they'll also give it to you straight when you need it. When you're your own best friend, you can be honest with yourself and face your flaws head-on. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

4. You already know all your darkest secrets!
Your best friend loves you unconditionally, and that's exactly what you should do for yourself. Accept yourself for who you are – flaws and all – and extend that same compassion to others. The world could use a little more love, and it starts with YOU!

5. You're always learning and growing.

Your relationship with yourself is ever-evolving, which means there's always room for growth and improvement. As long as you're open to learning and growing, there's no limit to what you can achieve – both personally and professionally.

Friends are a wonderful bonus to a happy life, but there's one person you'll always have right there with you, YOU! So you better make good friends with them!

What do you reckon, should we try harder to be our own best friend?
